Treat Yourself! Indulge Guilt-Free This Easter

Worried about indulging this Easter? There is no need to be!

It can seem tricky to navigate the Easter holidays when you really want to stick to your nutrition goals. But a little flexibility is SO important - a weekend of Easter celebrations will NOT ruin your progress, I promise!

Babes, it’s time to remove the guilt and allow yourself the freedom to make the food choices you want to make. But how? Let me tell you! 

Change your perspective

Let’s face it, it’s very hard not to indulge during Easter, especially when celebrating with friends and family. Some gals may experience anxiety around this time or even feel like they shouldn’t enjoy some treats. But babe, that may not be the healthiest mindset.

Instead of being afraid that Easter will ‘ruin’ your progress, take a step back and see the bigger picture. The Easter break is 4 days long… that’s literally only 4 days out of 365 days in the year! What you eat on those 4 days will NOT affect your progress overall. 

Give yourself permission. Set your mind free. You CAN make whatever food choices you wish to make. Deviating from your regular diet for a few days is not the be all or end all! 

Don't skip meals

So you’ve given yourself permission to eat indulgently… but does that mean you have to skip meals to save calories for it? Absolutely NOT! 

Deliberately skipping meals so you can eat more later will make you much more likely to binge. 

The best approach is to still aim to eat three balanced meals each day over the Easter break, and allow the treats to naturally fit into your day. You’ll be much more in tune with your appetite if you do this, and you’ll get the best of both worlds - treats PLUS still getting adequate nutrition. 

Take a break from social media

Whilst social media can be a positive space (like the LSF IG!), you may also be following some other people that may make you feel less than great about yourself. 

If you find yourself comparing your body to others, Easter may very well be the time you take a few days off socials.

Allow your mind the time during Easter to put your phone down and truly focus on enjoying time with family and friends. 

Cook up your own treats!

We all know store-bought treats are delicciouuss - but why not make your own dessert? Not only will you be universally loved by those who get to eat it with you, but you’ll also know that you’re getting some extra health benefits along with the chocolately goodness!
